Fossil Energy – Subsea Support Vessel
Maersk Supply Service, headquartered in Denmark, has secured a deal with Shell to utilize its subsea support vessel, the Maersk Achiever.
Constructed in 2003, the vessel is slated for operations at the Penguins oil and gas field located in the UK North Sea.
Set to commence in April, the specifics of the contract’s value remain confidential, with broker estimates suggesting a duration of 40 to 80 days, options included.
End-last year, the Maersk Achiever worked for Shell supporting the Stena Don semi sub rig. More recently, the 90.3-m-long multipurpose unit was contracted by Danish cabling firm NKT.
