Fossil Energy – 4D Monitoring

Equinor has commissioned Shearwater GeoServices to perform 4D monitoring at the Mariner Field in the UK northern North Sea and the Heidrun Field in the Norwegian Sea.

Shearwater will deploy its Isometrix technology for both surveys. This involves use of 4D seismic monitoring to detect reservoir dynamics over time to optimize reservoir management and production efficiency.

It will be the fourth Isometrix deployment at Mariner following previous monitoring surveys in 2020 and 2022, and the third at Heidrun after the surveys in 2018 and 2021.

The program, to be performed by the SW Amundsen and an undershoot vessel, should last two months.
