Wind Energy – Baltic Sea
Ramboll and Projmors have successfully secured two building permits for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm project.
This collaborative effort, developed by PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Ørsted, marks a crucial advancement in the utilization of clean energy from wind power in the Baltic Sea, particularly benefiting Polish households.
The milestone achievement involves the successful acquisition of two building permits essential for the project’s progress. Firstly, a permit has been secured for the construction of four offshore substations, laying the groundwork for efficient energy transmission. Secondly, another permit has been obtained for the construction of 107 offshore wind turbines, complemented by the development of transmission and telecommunications networks.
Baltica 2 is one of two – along with Baltica 3 – phases of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. Ørsted and PGE plan to complete construction of the Baltica 2 stage with a capacity of approx. 1.5 GW by the end of 2027, while the Baltica 3 stage with a capacity of approx. 1 GW by 2030.
