General – Expansion
Solstad Offshore expands its fleet offering by equipping six more of the company’s subsea construction vessels with remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
“The purpose is to offer our customers an even more complete vessel, including ROV capabilities in connection with subsea operations. Our focus will remain on being an owner and operator of offshore vessels, but we will now be able to offer operators and service companies an even more complete and well-equipped working platform and service offering,” says Oskar Tveit, who heads up the new offering from Solstad Offshore.
In connection with the investment in new ROVs, Solstad Offshore has entered into a cooperation agreement with Omega Subsea, who will manage, operate and provide personnel to operate the ROV systems on board the vessels.
The six work-class ROVs have been ordered from Norwegian ROV supplier Kystdesign, who will deliver the ROVs to Solstad Offshore during 2024.
With these six latest ROVs, 6 of Solstad Offshore’s 26 subsea construction vessels will by the end of 2024 be equipped with modern work-class ROVs.
