Wind Energy – Floating Wind China

China has begun construction of a 1 GW floating offshore wind project located 22 km off the coast of Wanning in the Hainan province (southern China).

The first phase of the floating turbine prototype test project will include 6 wind turbines, each with a 16 MW to 18 MW capacity, for a total capacity of 100 MW, and is scheduled to be ready in 2025.

Four turbine OEMs will offer their own floating prototype turbines.
