General – Handbook
Earlier this year at the ICSE-11, Deltares from Delft, the Netherlands, had the opportunity to provide everybody with a sneak peak, now we are finally able to share the handbook with everybody.
The Handbook is the result of a multi-year research programme performed as a Joint Industry Project with the contribution of over 20 industrial partners, coordinated by Deltares. It contains generic and science-based design guidance for scour protection design for offshore support structures.
This product is intended to ease the design process of scour protections around offshore foundations to help decision makers select the most suitable and cost-effective scour protection method for each considered situation.
Via collaboration and co-creation with a broad range of different industry partners, the handbook provides guidance not just on scour protection performance but also on many other relevant aspects of the design cycle, like installation, operation & maintenance but also on ecological impact.
The handbook itself is only the first deliverable. As promised at the ICSE-11, all physical model test reports, scour protection deformation analysis report and all physical model test data of scour protection deformation that was collected during this Joint Industry Project will be made publicly available, free of charge. Preparing this will take a little more time. It is expect to be ready to share in January, 2024.
