General – EU Wind Charter
Yesterday, Ingrid Reumert, SVP, Global Stakeholder Relations, represented Ørsted during the signage of the EU Wind Charter alongside the European Commission, WindEurope, the Spanish EU Presidency, EU energy ministers and key industry peers.
The Charter is backed by 300+ wind industry companies.
The Charter is an important political agreement – it will help the companies to hold each other accountable to deliver on the renewable energy transition.
It does so by committing EU countries to deliver on the actions assigned to them under the European Wind Power Package, a game-changing action plan which will help accelerate the build-out of wind energy as well as strengthen the supply chain.
Importantly, it will require sustained reform and action over the next few years.
By signing the Charter, the EU countries commit to improve auction design and permitting.
They also commit to invest in Europe’s wind energy supply chain and support the infrastructure required for the expansion of wind.
