Fossil Energy – Drilling Program

Offshore driller Dolphin Drilling has won a contract for the Borgland Dolphin semi-submersible drilling rig from EnQuest in the UK.

The contract includes a firm 137-day drilling program and includes a contribution for the reactivation of the Borgland Dolphin.

EnQuest has a further option, to be confirmed within 90 days of contract signing, to extend for a significant additional work scope as part of a strategic alliance over a five-year period.

Within this five-year period, Dolphin Drilling would have schedule flexibility. As such, this contract enables Dolphin Drilling to strategically position the Borgland Dolphin in the North Sea, where extensive, multi-year production and development well drilling and well plug and abandonment campaigns are frequent.

“This flexible contract showcases our strategy within semisubmersible moored drilling operations and underlines the value-creation potential for our rig acquisitions earlier this year,” says Bjørnar Iversen, CEO of Dolphin Drilling.
