Havfram revises business strategy and shuts down Kontiki Winds

Tuesday, November 7 2023

General – Kontiki Winds

Offshore wind developer Kontiki Winds has ceased operations.

Parent company Havfram confirmed the closure on November 3 after a comprehensive assessment of its overall business strategy.

The decision affects the business branch Kontiki Winds.

Havfram’s focus is by this, fully dedicated to offshore wind transport and installations.

The news came just a day after it was announced Kontiki was withdrawing from a joint bid with RWE and NTE for the 1.5GW Utsira Nord floating offshore wind tender in Norway.

In September 2021, Havfram, NTE and RWE joined forces to participate in the licence process to develop floating offshore wind power at Utsira Nord.
