Wind Energy – Coastal Virginia USA

BOEM, the Department of Interior has approved the construction and operations plan for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project, located approximately 23.5 nautical miles off Virginia Beach, VA.

This is the fifth approval of a commercial-scale offshore wind energy project in the United States.

The project has an estimated capacity of 2.6 GW of clean energy, which can power over 900,000 homes.

This approval represents a significant milestone in realizing the promise of our clean energy future. This project can deliver renewable energy and good-paying jobs to the American people.
