Wind Energy – Moray West

Together with Smulders and Siemens Energy, OW Ocean Winds UK have successfully loaded out the first Offshore Transformer Module (substation platform) for the Moray West wind farm at the Smulders Projects UK yard.

The barge will remain docked at the quay for another month, setting sail at the end of October.

Smulders is now gearing up to load the second OTM in mid/end October, which will set sail a few weeks later.

Located in the Moray Firth in the northeast of Scotland, the construction of the 882 MW offshore wind farm is determinant in the creation of a strong UK supply chain for future offshore wind opportunities, promoting and supporting the industrial transition into the competitive renewable energy sector.

Moray West remains on track to set to begin generating power from 2024!
