Marine Procurement Ltd (MPL) based in Scotland has awarded SMST from the Netherlands a contract for the delivery of a 5t Motion Compensated Crane to operate for the Empire Wind project, located offshore New York.
The SMST crane with 3D motion compensated knuckle, a new development for the U.S. offshore market, will support the newbuild Service Operation Vessel (SOV) for Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) with safe and reliable lifting of cargo on board.
The Motion Compensated Crane (M-Series) for the new build vessel will be delivered in Q4-2024.
