Wind Energy – Engineering

KCI from the Netherlands has been selected by Sif to perform the engineering of Skybox, a new TP-less concept for secondary steel installation on a monopile foundation.

The Skybox consists of an external platform which offers superior benefits to design, fabrication and installation of external platforms and thereby significantly reducing foundation costs.

The Skybox contains all functionalities and is comparable in size and shape to existing platforms. In addition, it requires low maintenance and increases overall efficiency due to the following:

• TP-less design;

• Integrated boat landing;

• No brackets welded to the monopile;

• Monopile designed to coat;

• Installation in one single lift.
