Wind Energy – Installation Substation
Bokalift 2 installs first US wind farm offshore substation at South Fork Wind.
After the installation of the foundation and the modular support frame, this week at Ørsted and Eversource’s South Fork Wind the Bokalift 2 completed the offshore substation installation work by lifting and installing the topside.
This marks an important milestone for the US offshore wind industry as this is the first US manufactured offshore wind substation. This substation will collect the green energy generated by the offshore wind turbines and transfer it to shore to supply power for 70,000 households.
