Da Chung-Bu wind project passes EIA subcommittee review

Wind Energy – Taiwan

Iberdrola Taiwan stated today that its Da Chung-Bu Offshore Wind Project, with a total installed capacity of 1.2 GW, has passed the initial environmental impact assessment EIA.

To declare their commitment to fully engage in the zonal development selection process by the end of the year, assisting in expanding Taiwan’s green energy supply.

Kevin Liu, Country Manager of Iberdrola Taiwan, said: “We deeply appreciate the guidance and suggestions from the competent authorities, the Bureau of Energy, and the EIA project team of the Environmental Protection Agency, as well as the input from NGO groups and stakeholders concerned about this project. Regarding environmental issues, we have humbly sought advice from relevant experts and organizations, further solidifying our commitment to environmental protection. With utmost sincerity, we have proposed a consensus-driven and feasible construction and operation plan to minimize the project’s impact on the environment and other marine users.”
