BOEM approves construction and operation plan for Ocean Wind 1

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) in the US has approved the construction and operation plan for the Ørsted Ocean Wind 1 project, located 13 nautical miles southeast of Atlantic City, New Jersey.

This is the third approval of a commercial-scale offshore wind energy project in the United States.

The project has an estimated capacity of 1,100 megawatts of clean energy, which can power over 380,000 homes.

This approval represents a significant milestone in realizing the promise of our clean energy future. This project will deliver renewable energy, a clean environment, and good-paying jobs to the American people.
