Fossil Energy – Brazil Santos Basin
Petrobras has found more hydrocarbons in the presalt Santos Basin with an appraisal well in the Aram Block offshore Brazil.
Operations continue on well 3-BRSA-1387D-SPS, 260 km from the city of Santos-SP, in a water depth of 1,979 m, including characterization of the reservoirs encountered.
Wireline logging and fluid samples confirmed the oil-bearing interval, and this will undergo further laboratory analyses, with the data likely to influence the next exploratory activities in the area.
In addition, the well exhibited good-quality fluid characteristics with low levels of contaminants. The results suggest an expansion of the accumulation discovered by exploratory well 1-BRSA-1381-SPS in the Aram Block.
