Germany’s Schwarz Group, owner of Lidl and Kaufland, said today that the two retailers have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with RWE Supply and Trading to procure electricity from the Kaskasi offshore wind farm.
The contract, starting in 2028, will provide the two chains with roughly 250 million kWh of offshore wind power per year over a period of 10 years.
According to Schwarz Group, Lidl and Kaufland are the first corporate customers to enter into a PPA for the Kaskasi wind farm.
