Wind Energy – Handling Wind Components

Historic agreement on handling wind components concluded between Blue Water and Vestas

Since the 1990s, Blue Water has been involved in the global wind energy sector, which has grown ever since and continues to exhibit a huge increase.

With extensive experience, Vestas now entrusts Blue Water with a 5-year agreement on handling wind components at the Blue Water Terminals Esbjerg and the Blue Water BREB Terminals in Cuxhaven, Germany.

For many years, Vestas and Blue Water have worked closely together on global wind projects, but this contract is by far the most comprehensive that has been concluded between the two Danish companies. The agreement covers terminal handling of the heavy wind turbine components, stevedoring, storage and service for a 5-year period on all Vestas’ components, which are shipped to and from all over the world via Esbjerg and Cuxhaven.

“We are proud of this vote of confidence from Vestas who has entrusted us with this important task. Blue Water has been involved from the early days of the wind industry, and our colleagues at the ports and terminals have extensive experience and are prepared to solve the tasks safely and efficiently while contributing to the green transition”, says Brian Sørensen, Global Category Head, Wind and Port Service, Blue Water.
