Shelf jackup spuds second North Sea Blythe gas well

Wednesday, March 8 2023

Fossil Energy – Development Well

The Shelf Perserverance jack up has spud the Blythe H2 development well for IOG in the UK southern North Sea.

Petrofac is IOG’s designated well operator. Drilling, completion and hook up should last about three months.

Under the Blythe gas platform Safety Case, the H1 well was taken offline on Feb. 26 to support a safe rig move and top-hole drilling operations. Twelve or so days of planned outages this month will likely reduce average production from Blythe this month, with a shorter outage also needed on completion of H2 well to allow for safe hook up for production.
