General – Cable Carousels
SCA Assets, together with FABTECH Engineering, have been awarded by a Dutch contractor the engineering, manufacturing, testing and supply of three 10.000MT and one 7.000MT onshore carousels.
The purposes of these carousels is the storage of close to 35.000T electrical export cables in connection with a major renewable project in the USA.
Options are in place for the possible upgrading to 12.000MT for offshore use. The first 10.000MT (33m OD) carousel is scheduled for delivery in Q2 2023, followed by a staged delivery of the remaining three units throughout 2023.
