General – Refurbishment
Last week, the refurbishment of Heerema Marine Contractors’ MLD winch reached its final stages!
Following a successful hoisting operation, the winch has been transported back to the SSCV Balder for installation and commissioning.
During the refurbishment, Royal IHC performed detailed electrical, hydraulic, structural, and mechanical inspections, after which a repair plan was made.
The work on the impressive winch, measuring a whopping 24mx17mx18m, was executed at the IHC yard in Kinderdijk, the Netherlands.
