Wind Energy – Latvia

EOLUS VIND and PNE have formed a joint venture for the development of the Kurzéme offshore wind farm project in Latvia.

The project, which is located in the Baltic Sea along the western coast of Latvia, has the potential to generate 4.5 TWh of renewable electricity annually with an installed capacity of approximately 1000 MW.

The joint venture plan to reach operational stage by 2030.

Eolus has been conducting preliminary research and developing the project since 2020.

With this partnership, Eolus is looking to increase its resources and capabilities by collaborating with PNE, a German wind developer with a significant track record in the industry.

The application for funding for the project has been submitted, and environmental impact assessments (EIA) will be carried out after receiving the necessary approvals.
