Wind Energy – France
TotalEnergies and RWE have applied for the competitive bidding procedure for the Center Manche 2 (AO8) offshore wind project in Normandy, France.
The bid was placed as part of the partnership between the two companies aimed at jointly responding to calls for tenders for the development of wind projects off the coast of Normandy.
The AO8 project, with an installed capacity of between 1,4GW and 1,6GW, is located near the AO4 project area (Center Manche 1), approximately 40 kilometers off the Cotentin peninsula.
Developers will submit a joint bid for the AO8 site off Normandy that can host 1.4GW-1.6GW of capacity
The site is located near the AO4 project area, about 40 km off the Cotentin peninsula in Normandy.
The AO4 and AO8 projects combined can host an installed capacity of around 2.5GW.
During prequalification, the TotalEnergies and RWE consortium will continue the dialogue established at SA4 with local and regional stakeholders to involve them at all stages of the AO8 project.
“TotalEnergies, as a historical player in the Normandy region, is delighted to renew its partnership with RWE to respond to the Centre Manche 2 project. Together, we will mobilise all our expertise to provide the best solutions to the technical, commercial and societal challenges of this ambitious project, with the aim of integrating offshore wind energy into a strong territorial dynamic,” said Vanessa Godefroy, Director of Offshore Wind Europe at TotalEnergies.
