DOC Cable Solutions from the Netherlands was recently awarded a long-term rental contract for three offshore designed lifted 9000mt carousels.
The dimensions of these enormous carousels are almost 30 meters in diameter, and a total of 10 metres in height. The picture gives an idea of the sheer size.
Construction of the carousels was started promptly at the DOC Cable Storage and Logistics yard in Vlissingen, as the client’s project is due to start in May 2023.
All three carousels will be used for the transport of approximately 35.000mt of cable from Korea to the US, in multiple trips.
These carousels are the biggest of its kind, and by investing in this equipment DOC is at the forefront of the subsea cable equipment market again. DOC sees the opportunity for future projects, in which the cable amounts are ever increasing.
