CS Wind send HKZ wind turbine towers to Rotterdam

Tuesday, December 6 2022

Wind Energy – HKZ

CS Wind has delivered the first shipment of wind turbine towers for the 1.5 GW Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm to Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

According to CS Wind, this was the first of five shipments that were expected in the following weeks.

The installation of all 140 monopile foundations at the Hollandse Kust Zuid construction site, which is located about 20 kilometers off the coast of the Dutch province of Zuid-Holland, was finished in September by Seaway Heavy Lifting and Sif.

The world’s first offshore wind farm without subsidies, Hollandse Kust Zuid, owned by Vattenfall, BASF, and Allianz, will have 140 Siemens Gamesa 11.0-200 DD wind turbines up and running by March 2023.

With the installation of the 70th unit last month, the wind farm is halfway complete. At the start of August, the project’s first power was sent to the Dutch grid.
