Fossil Energy – Accommodation
Prosafe has confirmed a $73-million contract from Petrobras to take its accommodation/support services Safe Zephyrus semisubmersible for a 650-day firm program offshore Brazil, likely starting next May.
The rig is due to complete its current contract with bp at ETAP in the UK central North Sea on Dec. 2, and it will then undergo preparations for mobilization across the Atlantic.
Prosafe’s Safe Caledonia should finish its contract supporting TotalEnergies at the Elgin platform in the same sector later this week, after which the rig will be laid up pending future work.
Safe Boreas is also laid up in Norway after assisting a platform shutdown in the UK sector earlier this month.
Two other rigs presently operating for or chartered by Petrobras in Brazil, Safe Eurus and Safe Notos, will each come off hire for 30 days between February and April 2023 for contract modification work and hull cleaning.
Safe Concordia is laid up in Curaçao ahead of a $33-million, 330-day assignment in the US Gulf of Mexico, due to start in the second half of next year with up to six months of options.
