Wind Energy – Kaskasi

The final wind turbine for the RWE 342-megawatt wind farm, Kaskasi, off the German coast has now been installed.

CEO Markus Krebber said: “There is no doubt about the crucial role that offshore wind plays in helping push forward the energy transition. The integration of offshore into the energy mix needs to be accelerated – we’re on the way to helping that. Kaskasi is the first new wind farm in German waters since 2019, two-thirds of the wind farm’s 38 turbines are already supplying green electricity to the grid and by the end of the year the entire wind farm is expected to be operational.”

He followed: “This is a major milestone for our project and for us and a huge well done to Team RWE at Kaskasi for making it happen. And there are also many more to come. Off the German coast alone, we are developing four more additional wind farms, looking to further build up our European green powerhouse on the sea, as well as progressing our project plans in the US and Asia to maximise he great potential these new markets also have to offer.”
