Wind Energy – South Korea
Offshore wind developer Deep Wind Offshore has entered into an agreement with Seatech for the supply of two floating LIDAR systems for wind measurements at its sites in South Korea.
The LIDARs will be installed on its recently awarded permits obtained to occupy public water and secures exclusivity to project sites for GW-scale offshore wind development.
The first of the two floating LIDARs is scheduled to be deployed in the fourth quarter this year on the project site in the Southern Sea offshore South Korea. It will then collect data from the site for at least one year.
When the measurement campaign is completed, Deep Wind Offshore will apply for an Electricity Business License and continue toward construction permits and financial investment decision for the project.
