Wind Energy – Belgium
Belgium’s Otary is preparing to file a bid in the country’s next offshore wind tender and is seeking supply chain partners ahead of the contest.
Bruno Verbeke, CCO at Otary, said it aims to maintain its dominant footprint in Belgium’s waters ahead of the auction for sites in the Princess Elisabeth Zone.
The area, identified in Belgium’s Marine Spatial Plan 2020-2026, holds between 3.15GW and 3.5GW of development potential.
Verbeke: “Otary is looking for value propositions in technological innovation, energy market trading and balancing and sustainable maritime building materials.”
The developer already holds shares in the 309MW Rentel and 487MW SeaMade projects, which were completed in 2019 and 2021 respectively.
