Good news for the progress of the energy transition in the Netherlands and the financing of TenneT’s associated investments for the expansion of the Dutch high-voltage grids on land and sea.
Yesterday, our shareholder, the Dutch Government, confirms that TenneT’s Dutch projects that facilitate the energy transition will lead to an estimated capital requirement of more than EUR 5 billion until 2025. Of this, EUR 3 billion has already been pledged by the Dutch Ministry of Finance.
Discussions on the latest estimates of the capital needs of the German part of TenneT are still ongoing. At the same time, the Dutch state is holding exploratory talks with the German state about the fulfilment of The German capital needs.
In total, TenneT expects to invest at least EUR 60 billion in the Dutch and German electricity grids in the period 2022-2031. TenneT’s investment agenda consists of approximately 40% investments in the Netherlands and approximately 60% investments in Germany.
