General – Incident

Norwegian media has reported that Saipem 7000 has been in a major incident in Norway.

The heavy-lift vessel, which was yesterday reported to have left the Seagreen offshore wind farm site with a return date later this month, arrived at Stavanger this morning (reported by Vessel Finder) following what was described by the local authorities as a lifting accident.

According to a police report some cargo had fallen out on deck. There were 275 people on board with no injuries reported.

It seems that barges next to crane vessel were inflicted major damage and capsized.

The Saipem 7000 is currently deployed on transporting and installing jacket foundations at SSE Renewables and TotalEnergies’ offshore wind farm in Scotland, the 1,075 MW Seagreen.
