Wind energy – floating wind
Ireland-based floating wind platform company Gazelle Wind Power has partnered with the owner of a Danish offshore support vessel.
Maersk Supply Service will be supporting this development of a 2MW floating offshore wind pilot plant in the Canary Islands.
The project is Gazelle’s floating offshore wind platform has been deployed at the Canary Islands Marine Platform (PLOCAN).
Maersk Supply Service provides project engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI). This is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2023.

The next step in achieving a dynamic mooring system is the commercial market. “
According to the company, the Gazelle platform allows wind farms to be located in the deep sea, is much lighter than traditional platforms, is more compact than other floating platforms, and is easier to build, deploy, and maintain.
