Shelf Drilling adds Nigeria work with Total for jack-up

Offshore drilling contractor Shelf Drilling has secured a contract for a jack-up rig with Total E&P Nigeria for operations offshore Nigeria.

Shelf Drilling will provide its Baltic jack-up rig to Total E&P Nigeria under a newly secured contract.

The drilling company said it would supply the rig for work in Nigeria. The contract duration is for five wells – estimated to be 380 days, plus an additional option period.

There is an additional option period, it said.

Work should begin this month.

The rig is already in position offshore West Africa, one of four Shelf Drilling has in Nigeria.
