Fossil energy – Timor Leste
Carnarvon Petroleum has awarded a letter of intent for the use of an undisclosed jackup to drill its Buffalo-10 well offshore Timor Leste.
A formal rig contract is now being finalized and Carnarvon expects to take possession of the rig upon completion of its current drilling operations, around the end of October 2021.
There are currently two jackups operating in the region: Noble Tom Prosser and Valaris JU-107. The latter rig is expected to become available in October this year, while the former is committed through Q1 2022.
