Still this month Shell will embark on a geotechnical investigation at locations offshore Sarawak , East Malaysia that will see either exploration or development drilling with the initial wells potentially being spudded before year-end.
Exploration prospects on the operator’s hit list include Davana, Keremak, Melinja and Kecupu while Shell also has plans to drill further at its producing F22 and Selasih fields.
Other drilling locations to be surveyed are Beboli, Temu, Inai, Cenmumur, Ruku-Ruku and Memali – all offshore Sarawak.
Recently Shell awarded Malaysian drilling contractor Velesto Energy to drill seven firm wells offshore Sarawak and Sabah, East Malaysia.
Jack-up Naga (Dragon) 4 will perform this drilling campaign, which is expected to start between 15 August and 15 October.
