Sing Da Marine Structure is working on upgrading its skills, with Ørsted’s help, in hope to deliver its first unit by the end of this year.
Earlier this year, the company signed an agreement with Ørsted to supply 56 locally manufactured jacket foundations.
Ørsted is currently working at full speed on the first phase of its Greater Changhua 1&2a projects and acknowledges that like every local companies who are new in the offshore wind department could face challenges during the learning phase.
Ørsted not only gives full support to help its local suppliers to overcome obstacles, additional help is also provided to ensure that the local supplier meet the highest standard for production quality and HSE requirements. However, it is Ørsted’s priority to ensure that Greater Changhua 1&2a projects are delivered on schedule and at the same time upholding safety and quality standards.
If suppliers cannot overcome the obstacles and deliver the supply agreement, Ørsted will take necessary measures to make sure the construction of the wind farm will not be affected.
