Vroon’s two newbuilding Emergency Response Rescue Vessels, VOS Faithful and VOS Famous, have been named in ceremonies held today, Monday, November 24, at Nanjing East Star Shipyard in China. VOS Faithful was christened by Monique Haverbeke, Crewig Assistant at Vroon Ship Management B.V., who has worked for Vroon for 37 years. Giant ‘Pieter Schelte’ on its way to Rotterdam
The giant ‘Pieter Schelte’ is now on its way to Rotterdam, sailing from South Korea, where it was recently delivered. The 382 m long and 124 m wide multi-purpose vessel, owned by Allseas, will be used for both lifting and installation of oil platforms and jackets. The vessel is also able to lay pipelines. The massive heavy lifter will be able to lift topsides weighing up to a maximum of 48,000 tonnes. Positioned at the bow of the vessel is a slot, 122 m long and 59 m wide, where topsides are lifted using eight sets of horizontal lifting beams. VOS Hera ERRV joins Vroon’s Aberdeen fleet
VOS Hera vessel has joined the Vroon Offshore Services Aberdeen fleet. Following its previous successful deployment for Vroon Offshore Italia SRL, the vessel has now been repositioned within the Vroon fleet to Aberdeen. It will operate under the UK flag, with Aberdeen as home port.

South Stream Transport, a consortium between Gazprom, Eni S.p.A., EDF, and Wintershall, is ready to begin offshore construction of its South Stream gas pipeline project.
