Wind Energy – Hornsea One
Greencoat UK Wind has completed its multimillion-pound acquisition of a stake in the Hornsea One offshore wind farm.
In May, Greencoat agreed a deal to acquire a net 12.5 per cent stake in Hornsea 1 offshore wind farm from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) for about £400m.
Operations at Hornsea One began in 2020. With a generation capacity of 1.2GW and covering an area of 407 sq km, the project is currently the largest operational offshore wind farm in the world. It generates enough clean electricity to power more than one million homes.
Greencoat UK Wind has invested in 45 operating UK wind farms with net generating capacity of 1,610MW.
It is managed by an experienced team at Greencoat Capital, a renewable investment manager with more than £7bn of assets under management.
