On 13.07.2022 SpanSet Axzion from Germany successfully completed a Site Acceptance Test of its Monopile Upending and Lifting Tool in its new configuration at SIF Terminal Rotterdam.
The extended version for flanged piles with 8m outer diameter is equipped with an optional support ring to restrict flange deformation and keep it by far in the elastic zone during upending.
Also the guiding arms are an add-on to keep the tool centered when lifting it from the installed pile.
The tool is now ready to support monopile installation within Dogger Bank A Project.
