General – IRO
Pieter van Oord officially retired as chairman of IRO on 23 June during the lustrum celebration of the Dutch Association.
For more than ten years he was at the helm of the Trade Association of Dutch Suppliers in the Offshore Energy Supply Industry.
For this farewell interview, Ocean Energy Resources spoke with Pieter van Oord, together with his successor Mark Heine, CEO of Fugro.
A lot has happened in the past decade in which the now 60-year-old Pieter van Oord has been IRO chairman. His task is now over and he leaves behind an extremely energetic interest group that is globally regarded as one of the strongest offshore clusters in the world. It is up to Mark Heine (48) to guide IRO further through the current energy transition.
For both gentlemen, one thing is clear: IRO is on the eve of a challenging period in many ways!
