Fossil Energy – Indonesia
Petronas has started early development studies on an offshore oilfield discovery in Indonesia’s East Java area.
Petronas has already successful production operations in the nearby Ketapang block.
Jakarta-based sources said Petronas recently issued a tender for a feasibility development study for the Hidayah oilfield discovery in the North Madura II production sharing contract.
A successful contractor may have been selected but this could not be confirmed.
The results of the feasibility study will help to determine a preliminary field development plan, and come up with some specific options on whether a standalone offshore production facility is required or whether the field can be connected to an existing structure.
