Tuesday, April 26 2022

Fossil Energy – Gulf of Mexico

Offshore drilling company Seadrill has secured contracts for two of its drilling rigs, West Neptune and Sevan Louisiana in the US Gulf of Mexico.

The contracts are worth a total of $105 million.

The West Neptune, a sixth-generation ultra-deepwater drillship, won a four-well extension with two one-well options with LLOG Exploration Offshore in the US Gulf of Mexico.

The firm term will begin in direct continuation of the existing contract. It has an estimated duration of 200 days and is expected to keep the platform occupied until August 2023.

The Sevan Louisiana semi-submersible drilling rig has secured a three-well extension with Talos, also in the US Gulf of Mexico. The extension is for a minimum duration of 105 days and is an extension of the existing contract with Talos, which will begin in August 2022.
