Q4-B satellite platform successfully removed

Fossil Energy – Decommissioning

Last week, the Wintershall Q4-B Satellite Platform was successfully removed by as part of the Q4-A/B EPRD contract (Engineering, Preparation, Removal and Disposal).

The platform has been removed in 2 trips; first the topside was lifted, lowered into the water and towed (floating hull) to the disposal yard in Vlissingen.

The 4 legs including the suction piles, have been lifted and transported in-the-hooks of the two cranes of the heavy lift vessel Gulliver.

The disposal shall be performed by subcontractor Hoondert Group.

The next trip(s) will be the removal of the Q4-A platform.
