Wind Energy – Brazil
Vestas has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte to support the development of wind projects off the state’s coast.
The objective of the MoU is to share technical knowledge so that governmental institutions can improve their studies of feasibility of implementing a port-industry approach in Rio Grande do Norte to support the development and operation of offshore wind projects.
Rio Grande do Norte is one of the six states where Shell is developing offshore wind projects. Planned to be built off the coast of Galinhos, the project could have 3 GW of installed offshore wind capacity.
