Wind Energy – HKZ

Siemens Gamesa reports that yesterday the first turbine on the world’s first subsidy-free offshore wind power plant was successfully installed.

Danish Offshore wind turbine installation firm Cadeler installed the giant 11MW wind turbine at Vattenfall’s Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea.

This is also the first time the SG 11.0-200 DD turbine has been installed offshore.

When all 140 turbines are installed, the wind farm will produce enough green energy to power two million Dutch households a year.
