Wind Energy – Substations
ABB and Ramboll have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on pursuing new prospects for offshore substations within the global offshore wind market.
The companies’ combined strengths in energy, offshore, construction, operation and maintenance not only bring credibility for EPC contractors offering services for substations, but also enable an alternative solution for the developers who want to increase competition on fabrication.
“We look forward to a fruitful cooperation with Ramboll”, says Per Erik Holsten, Managing Director of ABB in Norway and ABB Energy Industries in Northern Europe. “The agreement with Ramboll is set to advance generation and transmission of renewable energy from offshore wind farms, crucial for the energy transition to net-zero.”
“This partnership supports our ambition of becoming a global leader in the green energy transition and shares the importance of well-designed and engineered offshore substations for the development of offshore wind. We look forward to our collaboration and contribution to a more sustainable energy system,” adds Patrick Gilly, Global Director, Energy Transition at Ramboll.
