Seaway Strashnov replaces Alfa Lift on Dogger Bank

Thursday, March 17 2022

Wind Energy – Replacement

Seaway 7 has revealed that the construction of its purpose-built offshore wind turbine foundation installation vessel Seaway Alfa Lift has been delayed as the result of a crane incident that occurred with the A-frame on the 3,000t Liebherr crane in October 2021.

Crane repairs are expected to be complete during the second half of 2022, so there will be no operational projects during that year.

The vessel had contracts for all three phases of the Dogger Bank offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank A, B and C. The vessel was tasked with the transport and installation of monopiles foundations.

Seaway 7 just announced that a contingency scenario is activated which utilises the Seaway Strashnov to progress the committed work on the Dogger Bank ! project in the second half of 2022.
