ConocoPhillips is evaluating bids from engineering houses in Malaysia for a services agreement that could potentially include work on the Salam-Patawali oil discoveries offshore Sarawak.
The US operator received offers from engineering companies in January for a master services engineering agreement, according to Kuala Lumpur-based sources.
High-profile offshore engineering houses in Malaysia include AkerSolutions, GenesisEnergies, MMC Oil & Gas, RanhillWorley, RNZ, Saipem, TechnipFMC, Xodus and Wood, but it could not be confirmed which of them are competing for the ConocoPhillips opportunity.
The base-case development concept for Block WL4-00 is a leased floating production, storage and offloading vessel, although other concepts are evidently be examined.
