UK and Belgium ink MoU to boost energy cooperation

General – Belgium and UK

Britain’s minister for energy Greg Hands and Belgium’s energy minister Tinne van der Straeten signed a memorandum of understanding to work more closely to advance towards decarbonization and future energy interconnection.

The agreement will enable closer cooperation on key energy priorities including multipurpose electricity interconnection, offshore wind, low carbon hydrogen as well as carbon capture, usage and storage.

It includes a plan to build a second power interconnection between the two countries, adding to the existing Nemo-Link.
